If you also apply toothpaste on a burn

Often when we work in the kitchen our hands get burnt and immediately the family members tell us to apply toothpaste on the burn and we all immediately apply that the wound will heal quickly and there is no sign of burns. Will remain

This tip is a common tip used here by children and adults alike, but we never thought about why it is used. Or is there any benefit from it or not? Research by the International Burns Society states:
"Never use toothpaste on burns, and never apply toothpaste, especially on burns to the face and neck. Toothpaste contains flavonoids that kill skin cells from the inside out, causing dead skin cells to form. ''

Why do that

In fact, applying toothpaste makes you feel cool and because of the methanol and menthol properties that are added to the toothpaste and cools the burn, we feel relieved. But they also damage the skin layers that are involved in our blood and nerves. Therefore, applying toothpaste to burns is a very dangerous process.
